Super Easy Crochet Pumpkin Coaster Pattern

Fall makes me soooo happy!  I love everything about it, from the cooler weather to the colors of the changing leaves.  Just the word "Fall" brings a flood of images to mind...apples...apple cider...scarecrows....hay bales....and PUMPKINS!  

If you love to decorate your home for Fall, I have a free pumpkin crocheted coaster pattern for you!  It's a very simple pattern and works up quickly so you can admire your awesome work in no time.

Size H8/5.00 MM crochet hook
Scissors
Yarn Needle

Abbreviations:
CH = chain
DC = double crochet
​SL ST = slip stitch

Pattern:
The Pumpkin:
Starting with a magic circle,
Round 1:  Inside the magic circle, CH 3, DC 11, join with a SL ST into the top of the CH 3 (12 DC including the CH 3)
Round 2:  CH 3, DC in the same stitch as the CH 3, and work 2 DC into each stitch around, join with a SL ST into the top of the CH 3 (24 DC including the CH 3)
Round 3:  CH 3, DC in the same stitch as the CH 3, then work 1 DC into the next stitch, then 2 DC into the next stitch, and repeat around, join with a SL ST into the top of the CH 3 (36 DC including the CH 3)
Round 4:  work 1 SC into each of the next 14 stitches, SL ST into the next 3 stitches, now work 1 SC into the next 14 stitches, SL ST into the next stitch.  Tie off your orange yarn.

The Stem:
Row 1:  Tie on green yarn with a SL ST into the next stitch after the tied off orange stitch; CH 1, SC into the next 4 stitches, CH 1, turn
Row 2:  SC in each stitch across (5), CH 1, turn
Row 3:  SC in each stitch across (5); tie off and weave in the ends
